I finally got my hands on this shade at The Makeup Show LA. It's been sold out since it launched, so managing to a) find it, and b) get it for only $11 was amazing. As a swatch, this product is what dreams are made of, but is it the same on the lips? Keep reading to find out.

The Jouer Long-Wear Lip Crémes are in the same packaging as their lip glosses, meaning that the groove on the side makes it compatible with their linkable packaging products. The clear, rectangular prism has a dark brown cap and "Jouer" in gold script on the side. The applicator is a regular old doe foot one, but the stopper at the mouth of the tube is a bit large, which over saturates the little felt nub and is generally messy. Once you open the tube, you can immediately smell the heavenly cake batter scent. This stuff legit smells just like the cake batter Chapsticks, which is my fave Chapstick ever.

Noisette is s lovely warm chocolate brown shade, even though it looks a tad bit pink in the tube. Looping back to the over abundant product on the applicator, I find that this product can be too thick and difficult to be precise with straight out of the tube, so you either have to wipe it out on the opening or go at it with a lip brush and apply it that way. This product is supposed to be weightless, but because of the dry formula it can feel a bit heavy initially, but it eventually lightens up and becomes more comfortable. The pigment is pretty full coverage, but can become patchy during application as is it a quick drying product and needs to be worked quickly with. This stuff is pretty budge-proof and doesn't transfer, but only on the outer part of the lips. On the inner part where there is moisture, I did notice a few tiny crumbles here and there coming off on my cup, but that's pretty standard I've found.

TL;DR

Price: $18

Size: 6 mL/0.21 fl. oz

Availability: DermstoreNordstromJouer, Frends

Pros:

  • Long wearing
  • Eventually finishes to a comfortable texture
  • Pigmented
  • Doesn't transfer for the most part
Cons:
  • Applicator holds too much product
  • Wears easily on the inner lip
Cruelty free: Yes

Final thoughts: This is a good liquid lipstick, but is it my favorite? No. That still goes to the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick, but hey. Applicator issues aside and quick wear on the inner lip, this is pretty good! Long wearing, smells great, and relatively comfortable.
