It looks like it is finally time(ish) for that great, scorching orb in the sky to visit Oregon once again! Since sun protection is a bit of a personal subject for me (moreso for my mom who has several chunks of skin missing due to skin cancer), I thought I would share some of my favorite products that really work, but don't leave you smelling like a lifeguard.
1. Your face is one of the first places to show sun damage and sun damage related aging, but slathering regular SPF on your mug can have disastrous, greasy, pimply results. Opt instead for a sunscreen specifically formulated for the face. I'm a big fan of the L'Oreal Silky Sheer BB since it has a decent amount of SPF (you can bump it up to 50 if you so wish), PLUS it is whisper light, leaves the skin feeling like... well... skin, and has a tint to it that just warms up the complexion.
2. I'm DEFINITELY that girl who has to rope in her friends to finding her sunglasses after every outing, so I've given up on buying pricey ones and have instead started to buy cheap ones with UV ray protection in bulk. Having UV ray protection on your peepers will help protect the delicate skin around your eyes, keeping it burn-free and youthful.
3. I detest obvious, chalky, heavy, smelly sunscreens. The Hawaiian Tropic Sheer Touch Ultra Radiance line is basically the exact opposite. It has a lovely tropical scent and it leaves the skin feeling moisturized and ready to go! An extra bonus with this guy is that is has little light reflecting particles in it that leave the skin looking uber healthy and luminous.
4. I'll be the first to admit that I am a forgetful person. I honestly have minis of everyday hygiene products in my purse with me at all time just incase I forgot something important, which I normally do. This little stick sunscreen is a godsend because it is smaller than a travel-sized deodorant, but it packs a punch of skin-saving SPF. The best part about this one is that it is formulated for sensitive skin!
